Meet Geneviève Renaud
BSc(PT), MClSc (Manip. Ther), Sport Physio Diploma, RISPT, FCAMPT
Registered Sport and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist
I empower dancers and artistic athletes with the knowledge to build strong bodies & healthy habits so you can dance through life with a happy heart.
I’ve always been a big dreamer with big goals.
But then I was told the scary news… I was injured and had to stop dancing. I thought I would never get to dance again.
Physiotherapy helped me get back to my happy place (the dance studio) and sparked a passion for improving healthcare for the dance community. It wasn't until university that I learned how to take care of my own body and developed a passion for weight lifting. I realised how much it improved my performance in dance and in life!
My business started when I created the Strong Dancer program to provide a fun & safe environment for young dancers to learn how to be strong, resilient performers. It’s everything I wish I had growing up as a competitive dancer! I opened my clinic to spread my healthcare philosophy to more athletes.
Let’s work together!
-
In-person and virtual physiotherapy to get you back to the things you love!
-
One-on-one training and conditioning classes for dancers to perform at their best!
-
Virtual dance performance assessments and coaching, no matter where you are!
-
Mentorship, courses & resources for healthcare professionals.
All athletes deserve world-class care.
I bring Olympic expertise to dancers and artistic athletes, no matter your level of training.
Whether training recreationally in your local studio and gym or performing on the world stage, I get you back to dancing through life with a strong body, healthy habits, and a happy heart.
What makes me different?
I love what I do and value every moment I get to spend with my patients. I became the physiotherapist I wish I had growing up by taking the time to get to know you as a person; what makes you tick, what brings you joy, and what is most important to you.
By combining my dance background with my experiences working with Canada's top athletes at the Olympics, I help you develop healthy habits and movement programs that help you move more freely.
I have traveled to 25 countries and 5 continents (and counting). My hubby and I cannot wait to go backpacking again. I have traveled to 12 countries while working with Team Canada at international multi-sport events including the Olympics!
Wanderlust & passport stamps.
I start every day (almost) with movement and love mixing up my training with weight lifting, yoga, running, and spinning. This also means going to bed early so I can get my rest!
Member of the 5 am club.
Ice cream and peanut butter are the best food groups! And nothing replaces Italian coffee.
But seriously, I love to try new recipes and baking fancy deserts. We do weekly meal prep to balance out the treats, and food is one of the best parts of travel!
A foodie (both maker & eater!)
I have been dancing since age 4, danced competitively for nearly 25 years, and continue to take dance classes! I trained in Broadway jazz, lyrical, British tap, ballet, and contemporary. I have tried to convince my hubby to take a ballroom class… I am still working on him!
My happy place.
I am born and raised in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia (the east coast is definitely the best coast), am a proud French Canadian (maple syrup runs in my blood), and a military wifey.
A proud East Coaster!
I love using creativity to reset and unwind! My favourite mindfulness activities include baking, watercolour, reading a new book, making arts & crafts, and working on puzzles while jamming to tunes.
Creating mindfulness.
